2024 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the Year of Cultural and Tourism Exchange between the two countries. On the afternoon of November 26, the "Opportunities in China: The ‘Spring’ of Jinan" Spring Water Culture Exhibition was held in Paris, France. This event showcased the vibrant connection between spring water and the city, presenting beautiful scenes and cultural landscapes that highlight the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, with the aim of promoting Sino-French cultural exchange and enhancing mutual understanding between civilizations.
At the event, experts and scholars from France’s political, business, and artistic circles gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on the protection, inheritance, and innovation of spring water culture. The exhibition featured several themes, including "Spring Water Landscapes," "Spring Water Culture," "Formation of Spring Water," "Spring Water Protection," and "Spring Water Aesthetics." It offered a comprehensive display of the geographical, historical, and cultural conditions that shaped the famous springs of Jinan. The multimedia effects of "Every home has spring water, every household has willows" gave visitors the feeling of being immersed in the scene, allowing them to experience the memories and emotions of the people of Jinan, passed down through generations, carried by the springs.
Attendees expressed that Jinan is a city with deep historical roots and cultural heritage. The springs are not only the core symbol of the city's landscape but also profoundly embody the unique natural scenery and human spirit of the Chinese nation. The event was organized by the News Office of the Jinan Municipal People's Government and the News Information Center of Xinhua News Agency’s Shandong Center. Sixty guests from cultural, tourism, and environmental sectors from both China and France attended the event.
